AS THE WORLD TURNS {SHOOTOUT BETWEEN DAMIAN AND HANS} (TV)
Summary
One in this long-running daytime serial, set in the midwestern town of Oakdale. In this episode, Janice Maxwell is frustrated over the lack of attention her boss, Kim Hughes, has been giving her. Janice puts something in Kim's tea that will fix the situation but then learns that Kim actually admires her. Janice tries to stop Kim from drinking the tea after Kim tells her about a possible job opening as an anchorwoman in San Diego. Meanwhile, Lily Grimaldi and Holden Snyder are still being held for ransom by Hans, and Damian, Lily's husband, has taken it upon himself to attempt to free them. The police have a lead in this case but before they can get involved, Damian is shot by Hans and, in a futile attempt to strike back, Damian shoots Hans. With both men wounded, Lily and Holden scramble to flee the clock factory before the bomb detonates. Meanwhile, Samantha Markham shocks her sister, Lucinda Walsh, by turning down a job in the art department and taking one as a waitress. Lucinda can't understand why Samantha is willing to throw away her talent and is furious with her. Damian is rushed to the hospital with severe wounds from the gunshot, and Lily is right by his side. The tension between Holden and everyone else is evident, considering he and Lily had an affair. Damian goes in for surgery but no one knows what the outcome will be. The police are certain that between the explosion at the factory and the bullet that he took, Hans must have died. Commercials deleted.
