MARTIN: HOEDOWN IN MOTOWN (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Martin Payne, a sexist, wise-cracking radio talk-show host for WZUP in Detroit, Michigan, which is based on a character Martin Lawrence created in his stand-up comedy routine. In this episode, representatives of the Internal Revenue Service arrive looking for Stan, the owner of the radio station where Martin is employed. Martin and his friends soon learn that Stan must pay his back taxes of twenty thousand dollars within a week or else the station will be shut down. Martin attempts to raise the money over the radio, but before he can do so a Southerner buys the network and announces that the format will change to country music. Since Martin wants to keep his job, he decides to give country a shot, but soon learns that he has conformed too much and is out of work. Commercials deleted.
