WEINERVILLE CHANUKAH SPECIAL, THE (TV)
Summary
A Nickelodeon television special that interweaves the story of Chanukah with the story of two shipwrecked aliens who look like potato latkes. The program is set at the Weinerville Ski Lodge. Dottie, the receptionist, calls Boney in a panic; Mark and his family and friends are coming for a Chanukah party, and she needs help getting ready. Motivated by his appetite for potato pancakes, Boney agrees to help out. Meanwhile, the evil alien King Antidorkus has been persecuting the latke people. Just as the cook at the lodge announces that the kitchen is out of the oil needed for frying latkes, a spaceship crashes into the kitchen. Two latke people, Sinrek and Nivek, tell everyone about Antidorkus and about their ship. It, too, has run out of oil, they explain. While everyone goes to get oil, Antidorkus commandeers the lodge. Boney and the latkes are trapped outside, and they go to see Gonsah K'nocker, "The Wise Guy," for advice. Gonsah has psychic abilities; he knows the latkes' plight, and he relates their story to the story of Chanukah. Disguised as a Chanukah gift for Antidorkus, the latkes sneak back into the lodge and fight. Antidorkus wins the skirmish, but he tracks snow into the lodge -- the biggest no-no there is. The imposing caretaker, Miss Kabobble, will not tolerate it, and with her help Antidorkus is taken into custody. The latkes are jubilant; they can use Antidorkus to ransom their people's freedom. Finally, the party at the lodge takes form. Cocktail Frank & His Weenies sing "Menorah, Menorah," and Boney gets the latkes he has been craving all day. Commercials deleted.
