HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: THE WEDDING (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, Detective Lewis tells his partner Kellerman that he's getting married that night. Kellerman, along with the rest of the department, doesn't believe Lewis and thinks the wedding is a practical joke. When Lieutenant Giardello and Sergeant Howard respond to a shooting, they discover that the victim is a controversial radio talk-show host. Meanwhile, Howard's sister is visiting and Kellerman and Bayliss flirt with her and compete for her attention. The detectives are put to work by Lewis in helping out with the wedding reception, which leads them to believe that maybe Lewis is telling the truth. Giardello and Howard get a lead in the case and follow it through. However, the suspect engages in a shootout with them and ends up being shot dead by Giardello. Everyone is at the hotel ballroom waiting for Lewis, who is late for his own wedding. Giardello and Howard bring in the man who gave them the lead and interrogate him about the murder. Lewis and his bride finally arrive and exchange vows, but Munch still believes that the whole thing is a joke. Giardello struggles with the fact that he killed a man who was innocent of the crime. While everyone is dancing and enjoying the party, Pembleton's wife goes into labor. Commercials deleted.
