ANOTHER WORLD {JOSIE'S OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCE WHILE IN SURGERY} (TV)
Summary
One in this daytime serial set in the fictional town of Bay City, Illinois. In this episode, all of Bay City prays for the recovery of Det. Josie Watts, who lies in critical condition in Bay City General after being shot on the job with deadly "cop-killer bullets." Plot developments include the following: Felicia Gallant goes to inform Sharlene of her daughter's shooting and tell her she is needed at the hospital to give blood, but upon entering the Hudson house, Felicia is shocked to find Michael Hudson in bed with his sister-in-law Sharlene; while in surgery, Josie has an out-of-body experience and finds an inconsolable Gary Sinclair praying for her in the hospital chapel; Rita Madison and her son Chris lock horns when she senses he is trying to use his insider status to get information for the newspaper on Josie's condition; Dr. Morgan Winthrop arrives just in time to assist malaria-stricken Dr. John Hudson, who has been performing the grueling operation while attached to an i.v. -- after another doctor was injured by a bullet shard in Josie's body; John is devastated to learn that one of Josie's ovaries must be removed; Josie, on an ethereal plane, sees Ryan Harrison in the distant light and walks towards him; Gary confronts Captain Gabe McNamara and blames him for Josie's shooting; moved by Josie's situation, Chris and Rita Madison set aside their differences and try to express what they really mean to each other; Michael implores Felicia not to tell John about him and Sharlene; and though Josie has flatlined, John will not give up on his step-daughter.
