SIMPSONS, THE: 'ROUND SPRINGFIELD (TV)

Summary

One in this animated comedy series about the Simpsons -- Homer and Marge and their children, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. In this episode, Bart is sent to the hospital to have his appendix removed after eating a jagged metal-edged Krusty-O. While visiting Bart at the hospital, Lisa is reunited with her jazz saxophone idol, Bleeding Gums Murphy. Lisa is thrilled to see Bleeding Gums again and he decides to let Lisa have his saxophone if she promises to keep jazz music alive. Lisa uses the saxophone at a recital that night and can't wait to tell Bleeding Gums all about it. Arriving at the hospital, Lisa learns that her idol has died. Lisa, consumed with grief, wants to memorialize him but can't afford to buy his collector's edition album. Bart demonstrates his kindness by purchasing the record for Lisa with the money he was awarded by the court from Krusty the Clown. Commercials deleted.
