LAW & ORDER {LAW AND ORDER}: SAVAGES (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas that deals with the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of criminals. The first half of each episode concerns the police procedure that leads to the arrest of a suspect, while the second half covers the efforts of the district attorney to prosecute the case. In this episode, Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the murder of an undercover police officer. They examine the possibility of a drug deal gone bad and arrest a suspect believed to be involved in drug smuggling. Curtis loses his cool during the interrogation and the suspect is released. However, some new information leads them to Paul Sandig, the accountant for the original suspect. The detectives receive search warrants and come up with evidence linking Sandig to the murder. Assistant D.A. McCoy plans on seeking the death penalty in this case, but Assistant D.A. Kincaid feels he shouldn't. Sandig hires one of the best lawyers and the charges are initially reduced. Determined for the death penalty, McCoy argues his case and gets his wish: Sandig is found guilty of murder in the first degree and now awaits a sentence. Commercials deleted.
