HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: BAD MEDICINE (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, the dead bodies of junkies are piling up because somebody is putting poison-laced heroin on the street. Detective Lewis is teamed with Detective Terri Stivers of the narcotics unit to find out who has been pushing the heroin. Detective Kellerman learns that he is being placed under investigation for corruption by a federal grand jury. He has a feeling the investigation will reach back to his days working in the arson division, but knows he did nothing wrong. Meanwhile, Detective Pembleton is practicing for his firearms exam, which he needs to pass in order to get back on the streets. Lewis and Stivers get the name of a small-time dealer, but when they go to question him, they find him dead. Stivers's snitch tells her that Luther Mahoney has something to do with the murders because of the threat to Mahoney's drug business. When Kellerman learns that Mahoney may be involved, he begs Lewis to let him get in the box with Mahoney. Lewis refuses Kellerman's request because of the ungoing investigation against his partner. Pembleton fails his firearms exam and pleads with Lieutenant Giardello to get back on the streets. Despite some solid evidence, Mahoney walks away from the charges, leaving Lewis beaten by him once again. Commercials deleted.
