HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: DIENER (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, a wealthy women is killed, and Detective Pembleton works on the case without Detective Bayliss for the first time in years. Instead, he is partnered with Detective Lewis for this investigation and the two instantly clash over everything. Lewis is reluctant to talk about what happened with Kellerman, especially to Kellerman's face. Meanwhile, Pembleton's wife suggests that they see a marriage counselor, but he refuses, claiming everything is all right. Lewis and Pembleton question several students at the art school which the wealthy woman funded to see if one of them may have held a personal grudge. Dr. Cox's medical report reveals that the woman was beaten to death before she was shot. Pembleton believes the woman's brother is the killer because of the vast fortune one of them was to receive from an inheritance. However, the brother claims that an expensive diamond ring, a family heirloom, is missing, and he accuses the police of stealing it. This puts a damper on Pembleton's plan to interrogate the brother because of the missing evidence. When Cox hears about the missing ring, she asks Brody to install a surveillance camera in the medical examiner's office just in case the thief is someone from her staff. Pembleton's wife comes to talk with Bayliss about his becoming partners with Pembleton again and also about the state of her marriage. Commercials deleted.
