THRILLER: MR. GEORGE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas hosted by Boris Karloff. In this episode, a young child, Priscilla, takes a trip to the cemetery to visit her guardian angel, Mr. George, following the recent death of her wealthy mother. In the meantime, the mother's greedy siblings -- Edna, Adelaide, and Jarrett -- plot to get the inheritance from Priscilla, the sole heir. After some bickering, Edna determines that they must kill Priscilla. However, the spirit of Mr. George carefully watches over Priscilla. Edna continues scheming, thinking that they must make Priscilla's death appear to be an accident. Adelaide is intrigued by the fact that Priscilla keeps "talking" to Mr. George. She uses that tactic to lure Priscilla into the attic to search for Mr. George, trying to trap her in a trunk. Mr. George has other plans and Adelaide ends up dead. Then, Mr. George's sister, Laura Craig, arrives to pay her respects about Adelaide's demise. Edna quickly shows her the door, particularly since Priscilla and Laura obviously share a bond. Losing no time, Jarrett then tries to kill Priscilla on her swingset. Yet, Mr. George turns the tables again, resulting in Jarrett's death. When only Edna is left standing, Laura visits to inform her that she has been awarded custody of Priscilla. Needing to act fast, Edna makes one last attempt to kill Priscilla and thus steal the large inheritance. Commercials deleted.
