HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: DOUBLE BLIND (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, Chris Thormann -- a cop who was shot and blinded while on duty -- hears that the man who shot him is up for parole. Detective Lewis gives Thormann the emotional support he needs, along with a promise that he will speak against his assailant before the parole board. Meanwhile, Detectives Bayliss and Pembleton examine the case of a man who was shot, execution-style, in his own kitchen, and the neighbors disclose that the family always fought and that the wife hid the bruises she received from such fights. At the hospital, the wife tells the detectives that her daughter is the executioner and that she wants to testify against her. Meanwhile, Lewis makes some personal discoveries while studying Thormann's emotional state. When Bayliss and Pembleton track down the girl suspected of shooting her father, they bring her in for questioning and she tells them exactly how and why the shooting occurred. At the parole board hearing, Thormann expresses his feelings about the man who shot him and asks whether the system can justify releasing someone who shot a cop. And, when Bayliss and Pembleton wrap up the case, Bayliss decides to confront his own dark secrets. Commercials deleted.
