Summary

This program, a rebroadcast of an original episode, was taped off the air with a camera on a tripod by Andy Warhol for his private research and entertainment. This program is part of the Warhol Foundation's donation to the Museum of the artist's complete television collection. It was taped from WPIX-TV. One in this comedy series about the Anderson family -- Jim and Margaret and their children Betty, Bud, and Kathy. In this episode Betty is disappointed at not being the best in any particular field, and decides to take up fencing and win the college tournament. Since she's new at the sport she devotes a tremendous amount of time to practicing, finally earning the praise and respect of her instructor. Meanwhile, she becomes very fond of Gordon, a little boy who has been staying with his aunt in the neighborhood while his parents are abroad. Betty promises to camp out with Gordon but never seems to have the time to fulfill her promise--until the night of the tournament, when she learns that Gordon must leave to join his parents abroad. This program contains minor technical problems. This represents the best copy of this program currently available to the Museum. Includes commercials.
