AS THE WORLD TURNS {LILY CONFESSES TO MURDERING DIEGO AT THEIR WEDDING} (TV)

Summary

One in this long-running daytime serial, set in the midwestern town of Oakdale. This episode begins with the conclusion of Lily and Diego's marriage ceremony; Lily had agreed to the ceremony in the hopes of getting Diego to confess his crimes. In front of the church, Lily angrily demands to know what Diego did with her mother, and Diego admits that he killed Lucinda. As a thunderstorm brews overhead, a hysterical Lily pulls out the gun that she has hidden in her bouquet, but suddenly the lights go out. A shot is fired as thunder claps, and when the lights come back on, Diego is lying on the ground with a chest wound, and soon thereafter, he dies. Lily claims that she killed him, but her gun is missing. Detective Munson interrogates witnesses and learns that everyone had an opportunity and motive to commit the crime. Among those present are Emily, who had planned on filing rape charges against Diego; an inebriated Kirk, who is angry with Diego for ruining his marriage; and Margo, who continues to suffer from Diego's wrath, and has no memory of the murder. Everyone is shocked when Holden arrives on the scene with Lucinda, who is very much alive. Holden explains that they had been captured and then claims responsibility for killing Diego. Both Lily and Holden are held at the police station, where gun powder residue is found on Lily's hands: Holden is released and Lily is arrested for killing Diego. Meanwhile, Margo discovers that Lily's gun has been mysteriously hidden in her holster. Additionally, Nikki and Ryder find time to reconcile. Commercials deleted.
