KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER: THE RIPPER {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this drama series, based on the popular "Night Stalker" television movies, in which down-on-his-luck reporter Carl Kolchak investigates crimes concerning the supernatural. In this episode, Kolchak attributes a series of serial murders to Jack the Ripper. His pursuit of the immortal slayer -- and his attempts to convince his editor and the police that they have more than an ordinary criminal on their hands -- is hampered by a series of misfortunes and misunderstandings, from his editor's stubborn refusal to give him the story to an undeserved arrest for solicitation. On a lead from one of the "Dear Emily" letters he has been assigned to answer, Kolchak finds the Ripper's house and soon after encounters the infamous murderer himself, once again placing himself in the path of grave danger in the name of investigative journalism.
