Summary
One in this series of educational children's programs that teaches numbers and the alphabet, along with social and cultural concepts, to pre-schoolers. Set on the fanciful urban block of Sesame Street, the series features Jim Henson's live-action Muppets, animation, short films, and a cast of adults and children. In this program, Tully helps Baby Bear distribute invitations to his birthday party. But Baby Bear cannot decide whether he should invite Goldilocks since she always eats his porridge and breaks his chair. Baby Bear asks Tully for advice, but his opinion only makes Baby Bear's decision more difficult. Other highlights of the program include the following: Cookie Monster visits the bakery and imagines the cookie he is going to purchase; five-year-old children feed ducks, float toy sailboats in water, play on swings, tie their shoes, and have a picnic; Kermit the Frog, the Zulu chief, and others perform an alphabet song in the African musical tradition; an animated musical segment features the island of emotion; two aliens discover stars, the moon, pigs, and the Earth; an animated segment profiles the animals of Brazil; people in various costumes walk in a street parade; an animated segment examines the different personalities in a single person; Big Murray gets a number seven from a devoted fan; animated segments profile the number seven; Ernie and Bert sing about things they like; an animated segment covers uses of the word "yes"; a music video about movement is featured; the Siamese twins find a pencil and, not knowing what it is, find unique uses for it; segments profile the letter "i"; Julia Roberts and Elmo try to demonstrate how people look when they are afraid; a girl takes care of her dog; and Grover sings about "i." At the end of the program, Big Bird presents coming attractions for the next episode.
