TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL: DEAR GOD (TV)
Summary
One in this series about two angels, Monica and Tess, who help mortals who have lost their direction in life and their faith in God. In this episode, Monica helps a man come to terms with his childhood experience in a Nazi concentration camp by convincing him to help a girl in trouble. Max, a lonely and cynical postal worker, alienates himself from people because he fears that, like his parents during World War II, they may disappear. Meanwhile, a little girl named Tania has a sick father whose girlfriend, Sandy, is physically abusive toward her. At the post office where Max works, young Tania mails letters to God asking for help from the child abuse. Max reads the letters, but he is reluctant to become involved. Nonetheless, Max agrees to visit Tania's father who, on his deathbed, begs him to save the girl from Sandy. When he dies, Sandy absconds with Tania, and Max begs God to help him find the girl. As the postal worker tracks her down, the police wind up accusing Max of child abuse and placing him under arrest. While in jail, Monica and fellow angel Andrew help Max find the love and faith he lost back at Auschwitz. Ultimately, Max gets a present from the angels and Tania benefits from a happy foster home. Commercials deleted.
