
HIGH ROLLERS {WARHOL VINTAGE TELEVISION} (TV)
Summary
This program was taped off the air by Andy Warhol for
his private research and entertainment. It is part of
the Warhol FoundationÕs donation to the Museum of the
artistÕs complete television collection. One in this
series of game shows, hosted by Alex Trebek, in which
two contestants compete by answering trivia questions
and rolling a set of dice in order to win cash and
prizes. Co-host Ruta Lee assists contestants by rolling
the dice. In this episode, a contestant named Sand wins
two games, earning over $12,000 in cash and prizes. She
correctly answers questions about violin-playing styles
and the relative ages of Joan Baez and Cher. In
addition to beating two fellow contestants, she wins the
"big numbers" round. Next, a new contestant named Mike
joins the game, and he defeats Sand, earning a
microwave oven and trip to London among other prizes.
Mike does not win the "big numbers" round, but he does
go on to compete against a new contestant, who will
appear on the next episode. Includes commercials. This
represents the best copy of this program currently
available to the Museum.
