Summary
The pilot for this series of programs, hosted by Andy
Warhol, featuring interviews and vignettes with
well-known and obscure celebrities, musicians, fashion
designers, and artists. Highlights include the
following: a conversation with musician Nick Rhodes on
the clothing designers he prefers; a look at clothes by
designer Stephen Sprouse, as displayed by several
models, including Ariane, Christiaan, Michael McGale,
Salvator Xuereb, Katherine Hammond, Suzanne, Nick
Camen, Linda Mason, and Smutty Smiff; and musician
Bryan Adams commenting on rambunctious events in his
life and the origin of his musical career. Next, Warhol
chats with Debbie Harry and asks her if she has ever had
a screen test before. Other highlights include the
following: an actress named Antonia commenting on
what she loves about men; model/actor Randall Krebs
removing his shirt; artist Charlie Clough commenting on
preferable working conditions and his promotional spot
for MTV; a look at a fashion show organized by Pastor
John OÕLeary to raise money for St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church in Greenwich Village; a conversation
with Warhol and Harry about whether they would like to
watch themselves on television; actress Phoebe Cates on
her life and career, starting at sixteen years old and
progressing to eighteen and then twenty-two years old;
musician Ric Ocasek chatting with Warhol about his
clothing preference; actress Susan Hess on her audition
for "Miami Vice"; a look at New York nightclubs
Palladium and Area; artist Tyler K. Smith's version of a
screen test; and a look at Amateur Night at the Apollo
as the nervous performers prepare to hit the stage and
face a hostile crowd, with comments by the host of the
evening, Ralph Cooper, Sr.
