HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: FULL COURT PRESS (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, a high school basketball star is murdered, and the death toll linked to the Mahoney organization mounts. Mark McCarron was a legend in his high school and among basketball lovers and college recruiters everywhere. When Munch and Gharty investigate, they hear glowing reports of a golden boy who was the apple of everyone's eye. But as they dig deeper, they learn that Mark had a hidden sadistic streak that might have made him some enemies among the student body. Also, Ballard and Kellerman investigate the shooting of a man named Calvin Barnes and find that he is the fifth murder victim in two weeks affiliated with the Mahoney family. Increasingly jaded, Kellerman has contempt for Barnes and other drug runners who are killed, and he sneaks over to the FBI in an effort to get Judge Gibbons in trouble for his shady dealings with the Mahoney family. Meanwhile, Ballard, Stivers, and Falsone are confounded by what appears to be a civil war among Georgia Rae Mahoney's people. And although Lewis is suspended from the department, he is secretly conducting his own undercover investigation. Falsone is the only one aware that Lewis is involved in the Mahoney war, but Lewis insists on keeping his master plan to himself. Finally, when Pembleton and Bayliss try to track down a small-time stick-up man, they stumble upon a major drug trafficker, much to Barnfather and Giardello's delight. Commercials deleted.
