TWO GUYS, A GIRL AND A PIZZA PLACE: PILOT {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere in this comedy series about roommates Berg and Pete, and their longtime friend Sharon, who lives in their Boston apartment building. This episode begins with aimless grad student Michael "Berg" Bergen recalling his wild night to his more serious roommate Pete Dunville. Later, Pete tells Berg that he is about to break up with his girlfriend Melissa after six months as he doesn't think they have a future. Meanwhile, Berg continues to make extra money by being a test subject for lab experiments, this time with asthma inhalers. Then, Sharon Carter comes over, venting about having to go to her corporate job as a spokesman for a chemical company while her two friends goof around as grad students at Tufts. Later, while working their jobs at Beacon Street Pizza, Pete and Berg further discuss the pending break-up with Melissa. Then, Melissa arrives at the pizzeria, and Berg and pizzeria owner Bill watch as Pete babbles on to her without taking action. Later, Berg accidentally tells Melissa that Pete intended to break up with her. Thus, Melissa dumps Pete, amusing Bill. Soon, Sharon arrives at the pizzeria, having just scored the new account. She worries about the effect her career is having on the world. Meanwhile, Pete is angry at Berg for causing Melissa to break up with him, claiming he just had an epiphany that Melissa truly is "the one." Later, Berg tracks down Melissa and tries to explain Pete's thinking to her. Then, a side effect of the asthma testing kicks in on Berg: It acts as a truth serum. Berg starts being incredibly honest and he reveals everything Pete told him about Melissa. Now, Pete is even more upset, unsure where his future is headed and thinking that he may end up alone like Mr. Bauer, a regular pizzeria customer that quotes classic film scenes and claims that he experienced them. Finally, Pete forgives Berg, then gets Melissa to agree to work things out. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
(This series was renamed "Two Guys and a Girl" for its third season.)
