ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S MORE TALES OF THE CITY {EPISODE 5} (TV)

Summary

Episode five in this six-episode mini-series about the interconnected lives of people residing in San Francisco in 1977, continuing from the mini-series "Tales of the City." In episode five, DeDe and D'orothea learn of Beauchamp's fate, and Frannie is nowhere to be found; Burke has a significant dream about a rose, an incantation, and the man with a hair transplant; Mona's mother, Betty tells her daughter she is in danger at Barbary Lane; Jon is eager to move in with Michael, who prefers to have the noble doctor wait; Mary Ann spots the transplant man at the hospital florist; Michael makes a miraculous recovery from paralysis; Mrs. Madrigal plays matchmaker with Brian and Mona, who share a platonic evening over meatloaf; Mary Ann zealously dissects the meaning of the incantation, and Burke suspects cult activity is behind his amnesia; the female voyeur gives Brian an ultimatum regarding Mona, who is shocked to catch Brian gratifying himself with the voyeur; and, at the Associated Press, Mary Ann learns that Burke was working on an news story about "transsubstatiation." The program concludes as DeDe goes into labor.
