DIAGNOSIS MURDER: DISCARDS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of mystery programs about Dr. Mark Sloan, a physician at Community General Hospital who enjoys solving murder cases with the help of his son, Steve, a homicide detective. In this episode, Jesse becomes reaquainted with his father, Dane Travis, after years of separation. Around the same time that Dane arrives in town, a mysterious murder occurs that leads Dr. Sloan and Steve to the Department of Agriculture, armed with a number of questions. But the department heads, Kessler and Drake, are defensive when Sloan and Steve approach them -- which leads to more suspicions and speculation among the crew from Community General. Their suspicions turn to serious concern when another body, murdered in the same style, surfaces, and Jesse is missing from the hospital. Meanwhile, Jesse experiences the shock of his life when he learns the real reason for his father's long absences: Dane and his colleague, Cinnamon, tell Jesse about their roles in a series of fantastic government plots that stretch back thirty years. Once this history is revealed, the murders and the Department of Agriculture's involvement begin to make sense. However, the question remains of who is reactivating a dangerous government operation that dates back to the height of the Cold War. Dane, Jesse, Cinnamon, Steve, and Dr. Sloan cooperate to apprehend the malefactor, and end up learning some sobering lessons about the casualties of political intrigue. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
