SPORTS NIGHT: THE HEAD COACH, DINNER AND THE MORNING MAIL (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about the staff members of a high-pressure, nightly cable program that covers sports news. In this episode, Natalie is distracted from her work because of the charges she has filed against the football star who assaulted her in an empty locker room. Meanwhile, Dan and Casey debate whether a college football coach is capable of doing his job. Jeremy has been extremely high strung about protecting Natalie from any outside forces, and he intercepts a death threat addressed to her. He refuses to sleep until he feels Natalie is sufficiently protected and back into the flow of work; Dana finally has to force him to get some shut-eye. Dana begins to wonder whether the threats against Natalie should be taken seriously; she also asks the staff to double-check any information that comes from Natalie. Dan advises Jeremy to take Natalie out to a nice quiet dinner, but Jeremy is barely able to put thoughts together because of his lack of sleep. Gordon comes to the set, and he backs Casey on the position of the college football coach -- but he ultimately changes Casey's opinion. After a broadcast, Natalie asks why no one will confront her about her shoddy work on the show, and Jeremy finally finds a restaurant in which the two of them can spend time away from pressure and distractions. Includes commercials and promos.
