Summary
One in this series of comedy shows hosted by Ben Stiller, with ensemble cast members Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk. Interspersed throughout this episode are segments of "Legends of Springsteen," in which rock legend Bruce Springsteen, played by Stiller, performs extraordinary feats. First, he surprises the patrons of a small town bar by playing for them all night; he delivers a waitress's baby and saves it from space aliens; and he helps Abraham Lincoln write the Gettysburg Address by making the speech more "catchy". Stiller also appears as the host of the game show "Amish Studs." In the next sketch, a talent agent trying to convince rap group Run DMC to appear in inappropriate sitcoms, talk shows, and infomercials. Also featured is a mock-1960 news program "The Quest for Space: Forgotten Heroes" in which the U.S., in its quest to win the space race, sends two shallow fashion models, Bim and Bo, to explore the heavens. Following a commercial parody for the "sexy" Wilson post-hole digger, Stiller chats with actor James Doohan about the "Star Trek" series and fantasizes about the two of them becoming science-fiction pals. Ultimately, Doohan gets fed up with his inane trivia questions and blows him off. Commercials deleted.
