SEX AND THE CITY: OH COME ALL YE FAITHFUL {FIRST SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Carrie Bradshaw, a single Manhattanite who writes a popular sex-advice column for a newspaper while dishing out dating advice and dirt with her three closest friends. In this episode, Miranda queries her boyfriend about his habit of showering immediately after sex, and his explanation boggles her mind. After hearing about this, Carrie decides to do some eyewitness research about the role religion plays in life. She is shocked when she sees Mr. Big come out of a church. Big explains that he takes his mother to church every Sunday, an explanation that wins Carrie's affections even further. Meanwhile, Samantha announces that she is in love for the first time in her life and that she owes it all to Charlotte's views on romance and love. Startled by Samantha's revelation, Charlotte asks a psychic whether marriage is in her future. Carrie tells Big that she wants to go to church with him and his mother, but he invites her to accompany him to the Caribbean instead. Miranda puts a new plan into action with her boyfriend, but it does not seem to work as she had hoped. Samantha realizes the hard way that her love has hit a snag, and she is mortified. Carrie drags Miranda to church so they can spy on Big, but he catches them and introduces her as his friend, confusing her about their relationship. Samantha explains the failure of her love to her friends, and Charlotte decides to get a second opinion about her future. Carrie desperately wants a sign from Big that she means something to him before they go away together.
