Summary
The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Jimmy Joe Jeeter tells Loretta that his father frequents "bawdy-houses" and asks her to speak to Merle about this problem; Mary is in the running to be chosen the "typical American consumer housewife;" Martha asks Mary about her relationship with Howard McCullough; Mary reveals that she has been suffering from anxiety attacks; and Charlie convinces Loretta to sever ties with the Jeeters -- after she saves Merle's immortal soul. Commercials deleted.
