Summary

The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Loretta stops by the motel to speak with Jimmy Joe, but the situation becomes awkward when she comes face to face with Merle; Chester Markham reveals to Mary that he has hidden a nuclear "device" somewhere in the mental institution; Charlie lies to Tom about his injury; Martha continues to look for George; Cathy tells her mother that she is pregnant; and Jimmy Joe goes to his final reward while watching the evening news.
