Summary
The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Merle admits to Loretta that he is distressed about Mary's being trapped at the plant following the explosion, and Loretta tells him of her plan to unite Mac and Lila. During the crisis at the plant, Bales leaks information to the press indicating that an afro comb was found near the site of the explosion, hoping to implicate the black janitor in the affair. Meanwhile, Lila blackmails Merle into agreeing to appoint Texas as Fernwood's chief of police. Commercials deleted.
