Summary
The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Tom and Wanda talk about their sexual liaison when he was in prison, and they decide that they are not really attracted to each other. Just before Standing Cow dies she warns Martha to leave Mac -- or else mortal disaster will visit them all. Mac wants Martha to decide between him and George, and the Shumway family sets a date the following week on which to determine the outcome of its differences. Dr. Mattick has been having some luck civilizing Johnny Doe, but the child now behaves like a trained animal. Charlie and Loretta do not like the results but agree to let the doctor work with him once a week as long as they may retain custody of the boy. Dennis tries to convince Tom that he no longer has designs on Mary, but neither of the Hartmans is sure of his sincerity. Commercials deleted.
