GET A LIFE: SPEWEY AND ME (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedy programs starring Chris Elliott as Chris Peterson, a naive thirty-year-old man. In this episode, an unidentified flying object crash-lands in Chris's yard. When Chris decides to investigate further, he comes across the injured body of a small, beetle-like alien life form lying in the rubble. Chris decides to take the small creature inside and nurse it back to health. Before Chris can even prepare the alien some chicken soup, it opens its eyes, bolts upright, and begins throwing wild punches all over its rescuer's body. Convinced that the alien is attempting to show its "otherwordly love and appreciation" for what he has done, Chris decides to keep it nevertheless. After the alien sprays a translucent purple goo all over his house, Chris names it "Spewey." He brings Spewey to his pal Gus's house. "His name's an anagram," he tells Gus. "It stands for Special Person Entering the World ... um, Egg Yolks." When government agents show up at Gus's doorstep, Gus realizes that Spewey might be worth something to someone. "If I can get some beer money out of it," he decides, "I'll turn the little monster in." Chris protests, but the question may become moot; the agents become suspicious of the strange noises and multi-colored slime coming out of Gus's modest house. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
