FREAKS AND GEEKS: BEERS AND WEIRS (TV)
Summary
One in this series about two distinct groups of high schoolers in 1980 Michigan -- the Freaks, hoodish outcasts-by-choice who love heavy metal, cars, and defying authority; and the Geeks, physically and socially underdeveloped kids who revel in science fiction and impersonations of their comedy idols. In this episode, the Weirs go away for the weekend, leaving Lindsay in charge of the house, and the Freaks talk her into throwing a keg party. After a school assembly about the dangers of alcohol, Sam and the Geeks decide to protect Lindsay by substituting a keg of non-alcoholic beer for the party keg. The party begins, and things quickly spiral out of control as attendance soars and the guests start to feel the effects of the non-alcohol. In the end, Neal comes to Lindsay's rescue and helps end the party without jeopardizing her coolness. Commercials deleted.
