Summary

One in this series of traveling shows hosted by Chris Jussel in which local residents bring their antiques, art, and collectibles to be appraised by experts in the field. Highlights of this program, filmed at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, include the following: Nancy Druckman evaluates a fraktur booklet, Jonathan Snellenburg comments on a collection of pocket watches, Donald H. Cresswell inspects an 1881 John George Brown engraving, Marvin Sokolow judges a Japanese Hirado porcelain rice-wine bottle, Wayne Pratt values a Mitchell Ray Nantucket basket, J. Michael Flanigan appraises a nineteenth-century needlework illustration of the tale of the Prodigal Son, Douglas Deihl inspects a Native-American tomahawk, Leigh Keno comments on a plant stand and table decorated by means of pyrography, Richard Wright inspects a studio model of a Baby Teddy Steiff Bear, Nancy Druckman appraises a Justice Daly miniature portrait from the 1840s, David McCarron and Gordon S. Converse evaluate a collection of Albert Cheuret art-deco clocks; Paul Royka judges a reproduction of a brass plaque of a woman's head, Daniel Buck Soules documents an Ohio State homecoming football bandanna from about 1910, Laurence F. DuMouchelle scrutinizes a Dimitri Chiparus gilded statue of "Invocation," Ken Farmer inspects a 1928 Gibson L-Three guitar, Leila Dunbar comments on a gold-rush money vest, and Suzanne Perrault inspects a 1920s Delft-style panel from the American Encaustic Tile Company. In addition, in separate program segments, Jussel visits the Kelton House Museum, a former stop on the underground railroad; Tim Luke and Bill Bertoia give a brief history of Knickerbocker teddy bears; and Frank Boos and David McCarron give tips on distinguishing bronze pieces from those made of other metals.
