SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS: PILOT {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The series premiere of this family drama based on the 1954 screen musical of the same name, and featuring a song and/or a song-and-dance number in each episode. In this episode, Adam McFadden brings new bride Hannah home to his ranch where she is shocked to find six other male McFaddens with whom she has to share her love nest. Hannah is put off at first by their rude behavior and slovenly habits (though she is heartened by their habitual singing); the brothers aren't too keen on the arrival of a pesky woman either. However, the theft of the McFadden's prize bull by the local heavy intent on forcing the clan to sell him their family ranch brings the feuding family together. Hannah rallies the boys with an evening of square dancing and comes up with a plan to capture one of the thieving rancher Wheeler's prize bulls as their own. The plan involves participation in a county fair tournament where the brothers must best Wheeler's men in pig wrestling, wild-cow milking, pole climbing, pie eating, fiddle playing, and a tug-of-war.
