LOST IN SPACE: INVADERS FROM THE FIFTH DIMENSION (TV)

Summary

One in this series of science fiction programs about the Robinsons, a family of space colonists from Earth who have become hopelessly "lost in space." In this episode, a creature from the fifth dimension kidnaps Dr. Smith. The creature explains that its colleagues need to replace a computer on their ship, and that shrinking Dr. Smith and using his brain would do the job perfectly. The terrified doctor bargains with the creature and says he will find a more ideally sized human in exchange for freedom. The creature accepts, and Dr. Smith leads Will on a wild goose chase toward the trap. All the while, the Robinsons search frantically for their missing son. They finally locate Dr. Smith, but only after he has led Will into alien clutches. Smith makes up a story about what happened, and the Robinsons try unsuccessfully to disrupt the force field around the alien spaceship. Inside the ship, the creatures ask Will to concentrate so that the computer can utilize his cerebral circuits. Will's anxiety over leaving his family overloads his emotions, however, making him useless to the computer, and teaching the aliens a thing or two about human love. Commercials deleted.
