LAND OF THE GIANTS: WILD JOURNEY (TV)
Summary
One in this science fiction series about the plight of seven people lost in a "space warp," which leaves them stranded in a land where the inhabitants are twelve times their size. In this episode, Steve and Dan are shocked to meet a mysterious man named Thorg while trudging through the forest on their way back to camp. Thorg and his girlfriend Berna, who shows up moments later, are the first non-giants whom the men have come across outside of their immediate clique since the crash landing. Steve and Dan's excitement is soon overshadowed by suspicion, however, when Thorg demonstrates a powerful device that he has invented called an STM (space-time manipulator). The STM is able to stop time, shrink people, shoot people with a laser beam, take people's memories away, and function as a time machine. When a giant dog attacks the assembled group, Thorg is temporarily knocked unconscious, and Steve and Dan steal the device. They quickly program their coordinates and send themselves back in time to the day in 1983 when they were about to board the spaceship that would later crash-land on the giant planet. Unfortunately, Thorg and Berna are quick to figure out the plan. Using Berna's identical device, they follow the two men through time. Back in 1983, Steve and Dan try to discourage everyone in the airport waiting area from getting on the plane. All of their friends and comrades are there, but they are still complete strangers -- so everyone looks at Steve as though he is insane. When they realize that no one is going to listen to them, and that Thorg and Berna are hot on their trail, the two men decide that their only solution is to sabotage the ship before it can be flown. Before they can complete their mission, Thorg and Berna appear and warn them that altering the past could forever change the universe -- for the worse. Steve and Dan decide to risk it anyway, but their plan is doomed to failure. Commercials deleted.
