Summary
The premiere in this sitcom about Teddie Cochran, a Manhattan event planner who also becomes a suburban housewife after falling for a widower with two kids. This program opens with Teddie explaining how her life got drastically altered six weeks ago when she ran into Max Ryan at a party and the two quickly fell in love. One day, Teddie reveals to best friend Hillary and colleague Judy that she got engaged the previous night to Max after six weeks of dating. Teddie further tells her buddies about Max being widowed and having two children, Carter and Eliza. Almost immediately, Carter and Eliza find fault with Teddie. Meanwhile, Max isn't pleased with his new fiancŽe traipsing around the house half-dressed. Soon enough, Teddie meets Gladys, Max's housekeeper, and likewise offends her. Later, Teddie is enlisted by Eliza to drive her to her first day of school. There, Teddie struggles to reveal to the teacher how she is actually related to Eliza. The other children's moms are very interested to learn that Max is now engaged. Later at her office, Teddie relates her struggles of the day to Judy and co-worker Alan. Then, Teddie realizes she forgot to write a note for Eliza to attend a play date. Rushing home, Teddie finds the little girl furious with her. That evening, Teddie feels guilty and baits Max into arguing with her about her parental incompetence. Later, Teddie finds a way to make amends with Eliza. Finally, Teddie offers a different kind of apology to Max. Includes commercials.
