BOSTON PUBLIC: CHAPTER SIXTEEN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas that explore the tempestuous relationships between the jaded administration and the precocious student body of a volatile public high school in Boston. In this episode, teacher Harry Senate takes a group of students to the morgue to see the body of a youth who committed suicide, sparking indignant parent protest. Meanwhile, a collection of videotapes from the school's security cameras is stolen, and some of the footage includes images of teacher Lauren Davis showering in the locker room. In a bout of frustration, Marla Hendricks sends her entire class to the principal's office, and principal Steven Harper worries that she may not be taking her medication. On a personal note, Lauren Davis fears that her relationship with Senate may be in danger. A locker search to find the missing surveillance tapes turns up a journal belonging to student Anthony Ward, listing a number of students the writer would like to kill. Confronted, Anthony defends his work as fictional fantasy, but the principal and his assistant, Scott Guber, are not sure what to do. Later, a man reports to Guber that a student has tried to sell him one of the missing surveillance tapes. The administration must confront the would-be seller, reassure the upset parents, keep an eye on Marla Hendricks, and find a way to monitor Anthony -- and Lauren and Harry must resolve their differences, one way or another.
