DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, THE {9/11 TERRORIST ATTACKS} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of nightly comedy shows which take a skewered look at current events and feature field stories about any topic. This program, hosted by Jon Stewart, is the first episode back since the events of September 11, 2001. Stewart opens by offering what he considers "your typical overwrought speech" about the events, toward the end of which he breaks down crying. In trying to make it okay to laugh again, Stewart presents taped clips from some of the better moments of past programs. In the first, Vance Degeneres interviews Oklahoman Charles R. Doty, an elderly man who "runs" for President every election season. Next, in a clip from 2000, Stewart spends the day with ABC News anchorman Peter Jennings at the GOP National Convention. Finally, Steve Carell presents "Ad Naseum," a critique of late-night infomercials. In light of the recent tragic events, Stewart closes with a cute little puppy for the night's "special" moment of Zen. Commercials deleted.
