DAWSON'S CREEK: IN A LONELY PLACE (TV)
Summary
One in this series about the romantic exploits of Dawson Leery and his friends in coastal Massachusetts. In this episode, Joey is recovering from a violent mugging that has left her frightened and vulnerable. Dawson, sensing his friend's anguish, vows to spend as much time as possible around her to make sure she's okay. Dawson invites Joey to a series of film screenings by the likes of French directors Truffaut and Godard, but Joey finds the films boring, and Dawson senses that there is something else on Joey's mind. Meanwhile, Dawson's girlfriend Jen begins to resent all the attention her boyfriend is paying to Joey. When she reminds Dawson that they are supposed to go to a downtown nightclub to watch a popular rock band called Veneer play so that Jen can interview the band for the college radio station, Dawson responds that he has promised Joey to spend time with her again. Instead, Jen invites her friend Audrey to the concert. Audrey says that she will go with Jen as she has decided to stop seeing Pacey; she explains that because she and Pacey first had sex the night Joey was mugged their relationship is cursed. The two women leave for the concert, leaving Pacey to hang out with his friend Jack. Jack takes Pacey to a local watering hole to drown his sorrows, and Pacey quickly figures out that Jack has brought him to a gay bar. When Dawson and Joey arrive at another screening, Joey runs into her English professor, David Wilder. The encounter is awkward, and Dawson deduces that something is going on between Joey and her teacher. When Jen and Audrey go backstage to meet the band after the concert, the band members find them attractive, and the two women are tempted to stray from their relationships. Back at the gay bar, Pacey finds himself in a deep conversation with a restaurant critic who is flirting with the oblivious Pacey. Commercials deleted.
