QUEER AS FOLK {U.S. VERSION}: LOVE FOR SALE (TV)
Summary
One in this series about the day-to-day lives of a circle of gay and lesbian friends living in Pittsburgh.
In this episode, Michael hopes to find a new boyfriend after breaking up with Ben. He tries the personal ads, but his messages tend towards dullness. Nevertheless, he resists Debbie's suggestion that Michael visit her matchmaking friend Ida. Justin and his mother stop by Brian's place just as Brian's date of the previous night is leaving. After Justin's mother leaves, Justin and Brian begin to kiss passionately -- while talking about the man with whom Brian just spent the night.
Emmett, now an internet porn star known as "Fetch Dickson," looks over his fan mail and is shocked to find that it contains a gold bracelet from a secret admirer. Ted warns Emmett against the dangers of accepting gifts from strangers, but Emmett can't resist the sparkling trinket. Later, a limousine arrives to take Emmett to a mysterious mansion. With help from his friends, Michael puts together a racy and provocative internet personal ad. He receives a number of responses and sets up a date.
Meanwhile, Emmett comes face to face with his admirer -- George Schickel, the elderly owner of a lucrative pickle company, who much to Emmett's dismay assumes that the younger man is a prostitute. Later that night, George stops at Emmett's apartment to apologize, and the two go out to dinner. With Emmett out of the apartment, Michael and his date become intimate. Reluctantly, Justin attends a college party at the urging of Daphne -- and meets a man with whom he has sex in a nearby bedroom. Michael's date ends in disappointment, and he then decides to visit the matchmaker. Justin rebuffs the man from the party when he approaches him the next day. Justin ends up spending the next night with Brian. This program is closed-captioned.
