Summary
One in this long-running daytime serial about the residents of the midwestern town of Springfield. In this episode, Beth gets carried away by a flash flood after her hand slips from Edmund's. Back in Springfield, the jury is about to read their verdict for Danny's murder trial when Michelle bursts into the courtroom claiming that Carmen is still alive. The judge allows Michelle to take the stand, and she testifies that she has a tape proving her claims. When the tape's contents show that Carmen is indeed alive, Danny's name is cleared. After Noah leaves, Reva is traumatized. Josh comforts his ex-wife, and she admits that Noah left because he thinks she is still in love with Josh. Reva and Josh talk about their past love and their present relationship; in the hallway outside, Olivia and Peter threaten to expose each other's dirty schemes. Later, Reva tells Olivia that she knows about the bags of money Olivia had. In a conversation with Cassie, Reva admits that she still loves Josh. Meanwhile, Josh has the cassette tape that will incriminate Olivia -- and he tells her he wants to hear what's on it. In his desperate search for Beth, Philip hits a snag with some Mexican police officers. They eventually help him, but after Philip locates Edmund, he learns that Beth is dead. Commercials deleted.
(The title of this series was "The Guiding Light" on radio from 1937 to 1956 and on television from 1952 to 1977; in 1977 the title was changed to "Guiding Light.")
