SHIELD, THE: PILOT {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The pilot in this series about tough guy detective Vic Mackey, his family, and his coworkers. This episode introduces David Aceveda, the ambitious, media-savvy captain of Los Angeles's Farmington District PD and the much-beloved Mackey and his Strike Team of drug-busting cops. The episode begins with Dutch Wagenbach and his partner Claudette Wyms searching for Jenny, a missing child. Meanwhile, Mackey continues raising the ire of Aceveda by his brutal ways; Aceveda believes that Mackey is aiding drug dealers on the side and enlists officer Terry Crowley to get some dirt. Recently divorced Dutch considers asking female cop Danny Stofer out on a date, not knowing that Stofer is having an affair with Mackey. Claudette needs Mackey's assistance in locating George Sawyer, the pedophile that may have kidnapped Jenny. When Aceveda and Dutch's tactics don't work in getting a confession from the man, they must employ Mackey to successfully solve the case against their better judgment. The episode ends with Crowley deceitfully ingratiating himself onto the Strike Team, only to meet his death during a bust at the hands of Mackey. Commercials deleted.
