Summary
The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this children's series based on the popular book by Clive King. Barney and his sister Lou are staying with their grandparents while their mother is away for a summer vacation. Barney is wandering through the forest when the Snarget brothers chase him and he falls over the steep edge of a quarry pit. Far below, Barney lands inside a hidden underground dwelling and meets "Stig" -- a real-life caveman who has made a home for himself in the quarry. Barney makes friends with Stig and brings him various items from his grandparents' house. When the family asks Barney about the things he has taken, he tells them about his new friend; they assume Stig is imaginary.
