HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: THE LOCKET (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. In this production, a locket holds the mystery to an old woman's past and a young man's future. When Michael Keddington's mother dies of cancer, he takes a job at a nursing home where he meets reclusive patient Esther Huish and scheming coworker Alice Richards. While Michael pursues a Presidential scholarship to the medical school of his choice, his girlfriend Faye accepts a scholarship at UCLA -- all the way across the country. No one at the nursing home is able to get Esther to open up until one day Michael wins her over and learns of her great lost love, Thomas. Later, Alice -- determined to steal Michael from Faye -- takes him out to lunch, where he learns that her reasons for working at a nursing home are less than altruistic. On Christmas Eve, Faye's father visits Jack at work and orders him to break up with his daughter; Faye, uaware of her father's interference, is devastated by the break-up. Meanwhile, Michael begins his search for Thomas's whereabouts. Down in the dumps, Michael goes with Alice to a Christmas party, where he rebuffs her romantic advances. The next day, an angry and vindictive Alice tries to pin a crime on Michael that could jeopardize his entire future. He fights for his life in the courtroom, while simultaneously trying to locate Thomas and reunite himself with Faye. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
