CAMPUS CULTURE WARS: FIVE STORIES ABOUT PC (TV)
Summary
A documentary about controversies on college campuses over political correctness and issues such as race, gender, and sexual orientation. Real-life issues are recreated by actors. The first story takes places at the University of Pennsylvania, where law professor Murray Dolfman finds his career on the line after making a possible racial slur in the classroom. The second story takes place at Harvard, where the right-wing student magazine Peninsula sees a double standard when the school prohibits public displays of Christianity but allows for a vocal homosexual community. The next story takes place at Stanford, where Rudy Fuentes, president of the Latino student group MEChA, finds himself encircled by a small group of militants accusing him of "turning his back on the barrio." The fourth story takes place at Penn State, where English professor Nancy Stumhofer finds her teaching interrupted and the academic climate chilled by a nude work of art in her classroom. The final story takes place at the University of Washington, Seattle, where body builder Pete Schaub finds himself in the middle of sexual harassment charges after taking a women's studies class.
