DREAM ON: MUSIC IN MY VEINS {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

The second of two programs on this tape. One in this comedy series about a publishing company employee named Martin Tupper whose thoughts become animated through black-and-white clips of old television shows. In part two of this two-part episode, the music world is still abuzz about Katrina's emergence from detox, as she has credited her recovery to beau Martin, who has now become semi-famous himself. Now drug-free, Katrina struggles to write new music. Thus, Katrina wants a little heroin to get the "creative juices" flowing. Martin is able to stop her by showing off some poems he wrote in college. Katrina is greatly impressed and quickly wants to put then to music. Soon enough, she is recording them for her new album, but her fellow Crevice band members are less than impressed. They wish that Katrina was dating someone with musical talent, as opposed to Martin. Later, the press wants to know why Katrina would be dating "a nobody" like Martin. Then, Katrina reveals that the first single on her new album will be called "Hurricane Judith," surprising Martin. Martin has to go apologize to his ex-wife, claiming it isn't actually about her. Martin thinks Judith is just jealous of his relationship. Then, Paul Williams arrives at Judith's apartment and gets in a fight with Martin in defending Judith's honor. Meanwhile, the relationship between Katrina and the rest of Crevice continues to deteriorate, especially after Martin becomes the record's producer. Then, Katrina decides to split with Crevice in favor of her "svengali" Martin. One day, Martin makes a rare appearance at Whitestone. There, Eddie wonders if Martin is going to continue letting the press attack him. Eddie asks Martin and Katrina to appear on his show to premiere her new video for "Hurricane Judith," which features Martin. Eddie's audience absolutely hates the video, booing Katrina and Martin off the stage. Afterward, Katrina is told by her record label that she must reunite with Crevice lest she lose her multi-million dollar record deal. Thus, Katrina breaks up with Martin. Afterward, Martin apologizes to Judith, who unbeknownst to him is in bed with Paul. Finally, Martin hears a report that Katrina has again hit her stride, but may be back on heroin. Just then, Warren Zevon pays a visit to Martin's apartment, telling him that the music he did for Katrina is years ahead of its time, and wanting some help with his chord progressions.
