DREAM ON: LITTLE ORPHAN EDDIE (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about a publishing company employee named Martin Tupper whose thoughts become animated through black-and-white clips of old television shows. In this episode, Martin's girlfriend Dina tries to break up with him after revealing that he is not giving her enough emotional attention. Martin salvages the relationship, though, by falsely claiming he has been planning a special night for her. Meanwhile, Eddie frets over the arrival of his fortieth birthday, feeling that no one is paying the proper attention to it. Thus, Martin arranges for Eddie's dentist parents to attend a surprise party he has planned for their son. On the night of the party, Dina returns to Martin's apartment, quickly realizing that Martin forgot about their special night. At the same time, Mr. and Mrs. Charles are shocked to learn that Eddie has a daughter he has been hiding from them for years. Things become an even bigger mess when Eddie accidentally learns that he was adopted. Furious, Eddie has to figure out a way to come to terms with the newfound information. Meanwhile, Martin tries to patch things up with Dina. With Martin's help, Eddie decides to track down his birth parents. However, the surprises for Eddie are just beginning.
