DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, THE {TOM BROKAW} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of nightly comedy shows which take a skewered look at current events and feature field stories about any topic. This program, hosted by Jon Stewart, is broken down into different segments and features NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw. Stewart opens by briefly discussing Britney Spears's brief wedding. Next, in "Democrats 2004: Race from the White House," Stewart talks about the recent Democratic primary debates and the intense focus on Howard Dean (features clips of Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT) and Senator John Kerry (D-MA) questioning Dean in the debates). Afterward, reporter Stephen Colbert analyzes Dean's chances of getting the Democratic nomination. Stewart then welcomes Brokaw to the program. The two discuss Dean's unique internet campaign; how Stewart could call the White House; Dean's "likability"; and the similarities and differences between Dean and both Al Gore and John McCain. Stewart closes the show with a moment of Zen. Commercials deleted.
