MURPHY BROWN: MURPHY REDUX {TENTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Murphy Brown, a high-profile, successful broadcast newswoman, and her colleagues at the news magazine "FYI." In this episode, Murphy -- after twenty years -- bids farewell to the gang at "FYI" in order to take a job at the White House as the president's media adviser. One month later, after a vacation, Murphy begins her first day at the White House and, just 39 minutes later, Murphy has been fired and forced to unceremoniously exit the facility. Now, Murphy must go back to "FYI" to get her old job back. After finding that "FYI" is now located in new, lush offices, Murphy struggles to re-integrate herself amongst her old friends and colleagues. However, she's unable to get her job back as easily as she would have expected; Joan Lunden has been tapped to replace her. Ultimately, Joan is unable to take the job at "FYI" and Kay rehires Murphy. During Murphy's first broadcast back in the anchor's chair, Corky does a report on breast cancer, making Murphy realize she hasn't had a mammogram in several years. Thus, Murphy and Kay go to get mammograms. Kay's test is negative, but Murphy -- in a dramatic turn -- is called in to speak to the doctor. Commercials deleted.
