STEPHEN KING'S KINGDOM HOSPITAL: THE PASSION OF REVEREND JIMMY {EPISODE 10} (TV)
Summary
The tenth in this thirteen-part miniseries, developed by Stephen King and based on Lars von Trier's "The Kingdom," about ghostly happenings experienced by staff and visitors at a hospital in Lewiston, Maine. This episode begins on "Friday, the First Day: 'The Miracle of Water Into Wine'" as Abel and Christa speak with a drunk Firecracker Man in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Jesse calls maintenance man Jack Handlemann, who's filling in for the vacationing Johnny, and asks him to put an end to Dr. Stegman's wailing car alarm. Then, Firecracker Man notices Jimmy Criss crucified on a chain link fence in an alley. A tearful Firecracker Man suspects the dastardly deed was the work of crack addicts. Almost immediately, strange occurrences begin happening around Jimmy's corpse, even as it's tethered to the fence. Firecracker Man claims miracles are happening as he goes to alert staff and guests at the mission. At the same time, Peter makes another sketch, this time of "horrible" tools. Under Mary's guidance, Sally soon comes to believe that Mary died in the very location of Peter's room. Peter's roommate, Richard, then tells Sally that the pressure is building as the "black voices" make their noise. Meanwhile, mission volunteer Liz and the EMTs look at Jimmy's dead body, wondering how it is possible he can still be bleeding. Then, Firecracker Man notices that their faucet is now expelling wine.
By "Saturday, The Second Day: 'The Miracle of Loaves and Tuna Fish,'" crowds are amassing to see Jimmy's body as Channel 9 reporter Celeste Daldry telecasts about the miracle-related rumors. Later, Dr. Hook and Christine find Liz having a moment to herself in sadness over Jimmy's death. At the same time, Richard believes an earthquake is about to happen and tries to alert people, especially after Paul haunts him. Meanwhile, Sally and Bobby begin passing out tuna sandwiches at the mission. Then, a tremor rocks Kingdom, knocking out power in some parts of the hospital and trapping Otto outside the morgue. After the earthquake, another miracle occurs as Jimmy's powers seemingly make the sandwiches multiply, with enough to feed all the homeless. Underground, Otto comes to his feet, hearing the calls from Henry and Lona, who are also trapped underground. The trio is observed by Mary. Meanwhile, Dr. Stegman tells Brenda to find and destroy Mona Klingerman's anesthesia report, enticing her with the possibility of a romantic getaway to Salem. Elsewhere, Dr. Hook tells Elmer to get the same report, after which he'll give back Fred's head. Coincidentally, Sally is telling Bobby to break into the same hospital office at the same time to get Mary's records.
Then, Antubis visits Jimmy's body. By "Sunday: The Third Day: 'The Blind Shall See,'" a swarm of people has migrated to Kingdom, anxious to witness the "ultimate miracle." Celeste reports on Lona, Henry, and Otto being trapped near Jimmy's body. Richard tells Natalie about the ghost hospital trapped underneath Kingdom and how the next earthquake could be the big one, rocking the hospital off its foundation and causing overwhelming destruction. Mary instructs Peter that Lona can help prevent the tragedy via "the special dreamers." Meanwhile, Otto's poor eyesight becomes perfect, just as Dr. Hook and crew break through the rubble. Outside, Celeste interviews visitors who claim they are waiting for Jimmy to be resurrected. Then, Firecracker Man gives Dr. Stegman a major clue about who tagged his car. Back in the wrecked morgue, a massive rock rolls from the room's entrance and Jimmy's body is found to be gone, replaced by a bright white light. Elsewhere, Jimmy appears to Liz and gives her special instructions. As the doctors emerge from the hospital, they reveal that Jimmy has sent the crowds something for them to keep -- his image on a shroud. Includes commercials.
